Welcome to the Website for the Ohio County, Kentucky Property Valuation Administrators Office, recipient of the Outstanding Assessment Jurisdiction award for 2016 chosen by the KY PVA Association. We are pleased you have taken the time to visit. Ohio County was formed in 1799 and is located in Western Coal Field region of the state. This website is designed to assist people with different interests and needs in mind. Whether you deal with property values and or ownership information or simply would like to better understand the workings of the PVA office, we hope this website is of assistance. For the residents of Ohio County, this site offers an alternate way to apply for the Disability or Homestead Exemption. If you do business in Ohio County and would like to file your tangible or intangible returns online we hope this service saves you time and effort.

We shall maintain the website to address questions about Kentucky's Property Tax System. New policies and procedures and current statutes will be posted to keep taxpayers informed. Current certified Tax Roll (assessments), ownership information and characteristics, photographs and sketches when available. Visit the Tax Roll page for complete information.

Kentucky property tax law establishes the assessment date as January 1st of the current tax year. All property is assessed as of that date. Ownership of the property for tax purposes is also set by the January 1st requirement. If a property is transferred after the January 1st date, state statute requires the tax bill be issued in the name of the former owner until the next calendar year. Every attempt is made to mail the tax bill to the new owner using information provided to us by recorded deeds. If, however, a new owner does not receive a copy of the tax bill please contact the Ohio County Sheriff’s office at 298-4444 to request a copy.
